RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers were martyred when a military convoy was attacked by terrorists in Hassan Khel area of Peshawar district, three terrorists were gunned down in the subsequent gunfight, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
Terrorists fired on a military convoy in the general area of Hassan Khel – Peshawar District, the military media wing said.
Three terrorists were killed by the military’ quick response and successful engagement with the attackers.
The soldiers also found guns and ammo on the terrorists they had killed. According to ISPR, these terrorists were actively involved in terrorist attacks against the security forces.
During an intense exchange of fire, two soldiers were martyred. The martyred soldiers were identified as Lance Naik Muhammad Pannah of Pak Army (age 30 years, resident of Jaffarabad District) and Sepoy Shamas Ullah of Frontier Constabulary (age 36 years, resident of South Waziristan District).
Both soldiers fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom. It added, “Screening of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists in the area.”
Moreover, security personnel tracked and stopped terrorist activity in the general Tank area in a separate incident.
Four militants were killed by security personnel during a fierce gunfight. Additionally, weapons and ammo from the terrorists who were murdered were found.
According to a statement from ISPR, the killed terrorists were actively engaged in kidnapping, extortion, and target killing in the region.
