Two police officials martyred in terrorist attack outside mosque in Kohat

KOHAT: In yet another tragic incident, two police personnel were martyred when terrorists opened fire outside a mosque in Tapi area of Kohat last night. The cops were deployed for Isha prayers security duty outside Masjid Shuhda Merozai when the terrorists attacked them.

According to details gathered by MM News, the martyred police personnel have been identified as Constable Qasim and Constable Ayaz, both of whom sustained severe injuries that resulted in their martyrdom. Following the attack, the police quickly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.

The bodies of the martyred officials have been shifted to Hospital for further investigation.

Inspector General has ordered an investigation to find out how the bullets of the terrorists went through the helmets and bulletproof jackets of the policemen.

MM News has learned that four bullets came out of the bulletproof jacket of Shaheed Constable Qasim and hit his chest. This incident has once again highlighted the grave security challenges faced by security apparatus in the province.

It has also been learnt that the banned outfit, Teḥrīk-e-Ṭālibān Pākistān has claimed responsibility for the attack.
