ISLAMABAD: Two lawyers have refused to assist the court in the Islamabad High Court’s request to appoint a lawyer for Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav.
Senior lawyers Makhdoom Ali Khan and Abid Hassan Manto have submitted their replies to the court and both have apologized for assisting the court.
Both lawyers apologized for appearing on professional grounds. Abid Hassan Manto said that it is a matter of honour for me that the court has appointed an assistant but I have retired from advocacy a few years ago.
In his reply, Makhdoom Ali Khan said that he was proud to be a judicial assistant but could not provide judicial assistance for professional reasons.

It may be recalled that an application has been filed in the IHC to implement the decision of the International Court of Justice. The IHC had directed the Foreign Office to liaise with India to appoint Kalbushan Yadav’s lawyer.
After not receiving a proper response from India twice, at the last hearing, the IHC had said that India should be given another chance so that no doubt remains. The Indian government should be given another chance to meet the requirements of a transparent trial.
