KARACHI: Two children lost their lives after falling into filled ditches and open drains in two separate incidents after heavy rain in the port city.
The first incident occurred in North Nazimabad Block F, where in the under-construction drain alongside Gujjar Nullah, a three-year-old child named Ajmal fell into it.
The locals tried to rescue the child, but unfortunately, he couldn’t survive.
The second heartbreaking incident happened in Ittehad Town, where a 10-year-old child lost his life after falling into a ditch filled with rainwater on the night between Monday and Tuesday. The incident occurred near Muhammad Khan Colony, close to the Pakistan Hotel in Abassi Shaheed Hospital vicinity.
The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital through an Edhi ambulance. The authorities have stated that the deceased child was identified as Shahadat Allah, son of Kaleem Allah.
