ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit along with a sizable delegation of business figures, cabinet members, and senior government officials.
Prime Minister Imran Khan received Turkish President and his wife Emine Erdoğan at Noor Khan Airbase.
PM Imran was accompanied by the federal Cabinet members. PM Imran as always personally drove President and the Turkish first lady from the airport to the Prime Minister’s House. A guard of honour was presented to the Turkish President upon arrival.
According to Islamabad Police spokesperson, strict securities measures have been taken upon Turkish President arrival and 2000 police personnel will perform duties.
Turkish President has visited Pakistan for the second time since he assumed office in 2014.
During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Erdogan will have one-on-one meeting, after which they will co-chair the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in the joint cabinet format.
At the conclusion of the session, a Joint Declaration will be signed. A number of important agreements and MoUs are also expected to be signed during the visit. The two leaders will have a joint press stakeout. President Erdogan will also address a Joint Session of Parliament of Pakistan.
President Erdogan and Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address the Pakistan-Turkey Business and Investment Forum which brings together leading investors and business-people from both sides.
President Erdogan’s visit will prove to be another significant milestone in further deepening and broadening of the flourishing Pakistan-Turkey strategic partnership.
