A tragic accident occurred near Karachi’s New Sabzi Mandi area, resulting in the deaths of a woman and a minor child.
According to a report by Pak Observer on Saturday, the woman, identified as Khursheeda, was 45 years old, while the three-year-old boy, named Zohaib, also tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained in the accident.
In response to this and to enhance road safety, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon announced that vehicles and motorcycles being operated without a valid license will be confiscated in Karachi.
IG Sindh highlighted that untrained driving is a significant factor contributing to traffic congestion in the city, prompting the implementation of strict measures to tackle this issue.
Memon also mentioned that a system is being developed to facilitate the registration of cases against individuals who are fined for the same offense on two separate occasions.
Additionally, he indicated that habitual offenders will be monitored through e-tagging, ensuring greater accountability on the roads.
