Karachi: A trader and his wife were apprehended by police for allegedly selling sacrificial goats with artificial teeth in the Gulberg Chowrangi area.
Authorities acted swiftly after a video surfaced on social media showing a customer removing what appeared to be plastic teeth from one of the goats before sharing the footage online. The incident led to the couple’s arrest by Sumanabad police officials, who seized seven goats as evidence.
Police clarified that they received information about the sale of goats with artificial teeth through the viral video, prompting their intervention. No formal complaint had been filed before the video went viral.
Upon interrogation, the detained traders arrived in Karachi from Hyderabad to sell the animals and claimed ignorance about the artificial nature of the goats’ teeth.
The investigation into the case is ongoing as authorities seek to determine the full extent of the incident and any potential impact on consumers.
