ISLAMABAD: A district and session court on Tuesday decided to indict Chairman PTI Imran Khan in Toshakhana Case on February 7. The Court also directed Imran Khan to submit surety bonds of Rs.20,000.

During the course of proceedings today, Imran’s lawyer Ali Bukhari told Judge Zafar Iqbal that the medical certificates of his client were submitted at the previous hearing.

Lawyer representing the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) exchanged heated arguments with Ali Bukhari, to which the latter asked former to talk to court. On this occasion, the ECP’s lawyer requested court to issue arrest warrants of Imran Khan.

However, after hearing the arguments, the court decided to indict Imran Khan on February 7 in the case filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against the PTI chief in November last year.
At the previous hearing on January 9, it may be recalled here, the court had approved the PTI chief’s exemption plea and extended his bail till Jan 31.

The sessions court had summoned Imran Khan on Jan 9 after he accepted ECP’s plea to initiate proceedings against the PTI chief under criminal law for allegedly misleading the electoral body about the gifts he had received from foreign dignitaries during his tenure as the prime minister.
