Tom Hardy proved to be a man of many talents as he shocked fans at the weekend when he made a surprise appearance at the first REORG Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Wolverhampton, winning two gold medals.
The event was held at Aldersley Leisure Village on August 20 to raise money for a charity that supports BJJ training for military personnel and first responders facing severe mental and physical issues.
It is worth mentioning that there are two forms of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, BJJ Gi and No-Gi. Gi Jiu-Jitsu is grappling while using the traditional training uniform that allows you to grab the clothing of your opponent. However, No-Gi BJJ is grappling without the traditional uniform. Instead, practitioners would wear shorts and a rash guard.
Hardy was caught on camera competing in a Gi complete with a blue belt to demonstrate his rank and was quite impressive as he dominated his opponent from the start before slowly and methodically working his way to an arm-bar submission victory akin to UFC legend Ronda Rousey.
Later in the day, the Peaky Blinders star won another match by submission.
Not only did the 44-year-old Hardy impress everyone in attendance with his BJJ skills, but he also made one young Venom fan’s day by giving him a big hug.
The 44-year old Hollywood star is currently the lead of the Venom franchise.
