A well-known TikToker from Ghotki, Sameera Rajput, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her home, spreading shock and panic in the area, as reported by national media on Friday.
The deceased’s body was transported to the local hospital via a loader rickshaw, where after initial medical examination, it was sent for post-mortem.
Family members and close relatives allege that Sameera was allegedly poisoned by her ex-husband Ali Rajput. The deceased’s daughter also confirmed this allegation, stating that her mother was forcibly given poison. Sameera Rajput had divorced Ali three years ago; however, it is reported that Ali had been persistently harassing her to remarry.
According to police, as soon as they received information about the incident, personnel from the A-Section police station reached the scene and collected preliminary evidence. Later, after the post-mortem, Sameera’s body was handed over to her family.
Police have taken Ali Rajput and his relative Adnan Rajput into custody on suspicion of murder, and further investigation is ongoing.
Until the last reports, a case had not been registered. The police stated that a case will be filed after the legal procedures are completed.
There has been intense public outcry and backlash on social media over the incident, with voices being raised to get justice for the deceased.
