TikTok star and model Areeka Haq has revealed some social media influencers are intentionally leaking their own obscene videos in an attempt to gain fame and attract media attention.
In a recent interview with the show Nukta, Areeka Haq spoke candidly on a variety of topics.
She shared that she began creating videos on social media a few years ago, shortly after completing her matriculation, during a gap year before enrolling in the 11th grade. She continued her education while initially creating content on an app called Musically, which later became TikTok.
Erika revealed that her presence on social media subjected her to frequent criticism, both online and in person, which led her to struggle with depression. She said the harshest backlash came after she modeled in a music video with singer Asim Azhar. Even after joining university, she continued to face criticism from people around her.
According to Erika, critics often believe that social media stars and models are public property, which entitles them to use inappropriate language and pass judgment without restraint.
During the interview, Erika made a noteworthy claim that many female TikTokers today are leaking their own inappropriate videos. She said that until recently, many male and female content creators gained popularity by making videos as couples, but when that trend faded, the women lost their prominence on social media.
In response to this decline in visibility, Erika claimed that some girls began leaking their own videos to regain attention and stir public discourse, which, she admitted, often succeeds in restoring their fame.
She remarked, “At first, I thought that these girls were victims, but now I believe some are doing it themselves.”
It should be noted that Areeka has over 12 million followers on TikTok and 4.2 million on Instagram.
