KARACHI: Three traffic police officers in Karachi tested positive for COVID-19, while the results of 100 police personnel came negative for the pandemic on Tuesday.
As per details, DIGP Admin, Dr. Muhamamd Amin Yousufzai, in cooperation with an NGO had arranged coronavirus test facility for police officials.
Several police officials from District Malir and East were tested for the COVID-19. In the first phase on Monday, 50 officials of district east, who were posted on pickets during lockdown, had been tested, while 50 personnel from district Malir were tested negative.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir, Ali Raza all police officers tested negative for the COVID-19. As many as 30 traffic police officers also underwent testing out of which three tested positive on Tuesday.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had revealed that in the past 24 hours, another four people succumbed to novel COVID-19 in Sindh, taking the provincial death toll to 35.
In his daily briefing regarding COVID-19, CM Murad further informed that 663 coronavirus tests were conducted in the past 24 hours and almost 66 new infections were detected.
CM Murad Ali Shah also said that so far, the province has conducted a total of 14,503 coronavirus tests, while the total number of positive cases as of today stood at 1,518.
