Three people were killed, and two others sustained critical injuries when unidentified gunmen opened fire during Tarawih prayers in Narowal.
The attack occurred in Mohallah Kashmirian, Haveli Inamullah Butt. Preliminary investigations suggest the shooting stemmed from a long-standing rivalry over a private bus stand. The assailants fled before law enforcement arrived.
Punjab police confirmed the identities of the deceased as Imran Butt (48), Shahid Butt (50), and Zafar Iqbal (47).
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said that the violence resulted from an ongoing dispute between two brothers, Imran (deceased) and Zaman (suspect).
He further revealed that Imran had been named in eight criminal cases, while Zaman had nine cases registered against him.
The shooter, reportedly responsible for Imran’s killing, was identified as a resident of Waziristan.
In response to the incident, authorities sealed the wagon base and implemented precautionary measures to prevent further violence.
