ISLAMABAD: Authorities suspended three officials of Anti-Narco Force after their video of taking bribe went viral the other day.
MM News has learnt that the Director General (DG) Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) placed three officials of his force under suspension on charges of taking bribe from a passenger to allow him to smuggle narcotics to United Kingdom (UK) from New Islamabad International Airport (NIIAP).
Two of those suspended on bribery charges were identified as Subedar Gohar and Constable Asim Baig, while the identity of third official of ANF could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.

In the viral video, ANF official could be seen demanding water from the passenger, saying that “if you want to carry ‘goods’, then serve us”. An ANF official takes a bribe from the passenger while other fellow officials silently support him. The bribe taker says how much will you give? The passenger hands over two foreign currency notes.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Narcotics Control Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti also took notice of the matter and ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident.
Furthermore, it has also been learnt that an investigation committee has been constituted by Anti-Narcotics Force and further inquiry is underway.
