Three kidnappers killed, abducted child recovered in Karachi

KARACHI: Police conducted an operation in Ittehad Town area, killing three kidnappers while the abducted child was safely recovered.

10-year-old Waqar, son of Sherullah. was kidnapped from Metroville SITE area on June 29 and a case of his abduction was registered at the SITE police station. Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) officials said.

According to DIG Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), the kidnappers were demanding Rs10 million as ransom from the family abducted child. Police also revealed that the family was receiving calls for demanding ransom from an Afghanistan-based number.

Rescue teams shifted the dead bodies of kidnappers to hospital. Police is conducting further investigation and said the facilitators will be arrested soon.
