LAHORE: The three-day 8th Lahore Literary Festival 2020 has kicked off from today at the Alhamra Arts Council.
The festival began this morning by a Qawwali performance by Saami Brothers. LLF CEO Razi Ahmed said that the festival focused on the efforts in nurturing students, authors, and books.
CEO Serena Hotels Aziz Boolani while appreciating the efforts of LLF in promoting Pakistan’s rich culture said that Serena was playing a vital role in cultural diplomacy and highlighted the initiatives related to Satrang art gallery and Sarangi music initiative.
The LLF feature book launches, panel discussions, poetry, and performances from across the world every year. Mahira Khan will also take part in the event in Fifi Haroon in Pakistan’s Brave New Cinema.
Renowned speakers who will attend the festival include William Dalrymple, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Punjabi scholar Asma Qadri, author Musharraf Ali Farooqi, Nigerian author Oyinkan Braithwaite, and Spanish translator Rocio Moriones Alonso.
