KARACHI: Three policemen have been arrested in connection with the theft of over Rs20 million from the warehouse of the Artillery Maidan police station in Karachi.
Earlier, three policemen were suspended following the theft and a case of criminal negligence was registered against them as officials suspected inside involvement in the theft.
During the investigation, CCTV footage helped the police catch the main culprit after he was seen in footage carrying the bag full of cash. Police sources said that Munshi Shehbaz confessed to the theft during interrogation yesterday.

It is pertinent to mention here that the case property of Rs20.75 million was being kept at the Artillery Maidan police station since the past four months, but the theft emerged just a couple of days ago.
Rs35 million had been snatched from a goldsmith on Daud Pota Road on February 2, and the police had arrested six suspects in the case and recovered over Rs20 million.
He said that head moharrar Abdullah, investigation officer Mahmood and two police guards deployed at treasury will be booked in the case.
