ISLAMABAD: More than a thousand plots have been fraudulently sold to citizens in Pakistan including overseas residents in the Jinnah Garden Housing Society in the federal capital, it has been revealed.
Sources revealed the Phase-II plots were renumbered and eventually sold. The plot numbers were tampered and they renumbered to show it a new plot. The market value of a Phase-I plot is up to Rs1 million. When the Phase-I plot number is affixed to a file then it is sold for Rs5 million. In this way, more than one thousand residential and commercial plots have been sold fraudulently
Sources said that the owners of Phase-I plots keep searching for their plots and which have been shifted in a distant sector. The management of Jinnah Garden occupied the lands of the adjacent Bankers City Housing Society and sold the plots for Rs700 million.
According to sources, the management of Jinnah Garden issued a fake land deed from a patwari (revenue officer) and sold the lands. CEO of Bankers City Housing Society Syed Rahat Hussain Shah and the patwaris of Mouza Gagri and Mouza Chocha and District Administration Islamabad are also complacent in the scam.
Sources further said that Rs5 million is paid monthly to the Islamabad district administration by the Jinnah Garden administration. Citizens filed a complaint with the FIA to investigate the case but the case was suppressed after a bribe of Rs30 million was paid to the investigating officers, sources revealed.
The management of Jinnah Garden housing society was supposed to give 43 kanals land to Municipal Corporation which has not been given and the matter was settled by making a fake agreement.
Many prominent members of the National Assembly have also received 400 plots. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Qasim Suri has forty plots in the name of his personal employees. This is known to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad but no action has been taken.
Sources revealed that the patwaris should point out the land of Bankers City Housing Society and the scam will be exposed. The current management of Jinnah Garden includes retired Major Aftab as President, General Secretary Abdul Rauf Satti and Gul Sher who oversees all matters.
No action has been taken against the Jinnah Garden administration, which has swallowed up the entire Bankers City after embezzling the funds in Jinnah Garden.
