The Punjab Human Capital Investment Project has announced that it will provide 3,718 tablets to primary school teachers across 11 districts in Punjab, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday.
The Program Monitoring and Implementation Unit has issued a notification regarding the distribution of these tablets. Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers will be responsible for the tablets and will use them to ensure online attendance.
It is important to note that these tablets will also strengthen the monitoring system for schools in the 11 districts.
Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the distribution of laptops to college and university students to enhance their education by providing access to digital resources.
Under Maryam Nawaz’s leadership, the government has pledged to improve digital literacy by enabling interactive and flexible learning for students. The Chief Minister has approved two new initiatives: the Laptop Scheme and the Student Scholarship Program, and has instructed relevant departments to begin the registration process.
The Punjab government has allocated over Rs. 125 billion annually to cover educational expenses for 25,000 students. The Chief Minister assured that these funds will fully support the students’ educational needs. Additionally, the Chief Minister has mandated that prizes be awarded to the top students from each education board in Punjab, as well as to their teachers.
