KARACHI: Ramzan’s much-loved comedy show ‘Suno Chanda’ will not be returning for a third season despite two successful seasons and the demand by fans and supporters for a third one.
In a recent interactive session on a social media platform, when asked by a fan that when ‘Suno Chanda’ Season third will come, Nabeel Zuberi, who plays Shehryar in the show said: “Sorry to update you guys, there will be no season 3 of Suno Chanda.”
The news is certainly upsetting for fans who were vying for a third season, especially after director Aehsun Talish in an interview in April 2020 had hinted that the romantic comedy might return for a third season.“It is possible the third season of Suno Chanda will come,” Aehsun had said in the interview.
When asked if a third season should come or it will be too much, Talish said: “Kar kay dekhtay hain, phir dekhayn gay kya hota hai (Let’s do it and then see what happens?).”
Earlier in August 2019, BBC Asian Network journalist, Haroon Rashid had tweeted that the producer of the show Momina Duraid had confirmed that there are discussions ongoing about a third season. The next season will not air in Ramadan 2020, but will instead air in 2021, he had shared.
Hello #SunoChanda fans. #MominaDuraid has confirmed there ARE discussions about a third season but it WILL NOT air in 2020. There will be two year break and *if* it happens, it will air in 2021. Part of the series will be set in the UK. @Humtvnetwork

Rumors regarding season 3 further increased after Yasir Hussain shared a picture of himself with Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed with the caption: “Suno Chanda Part 3.” It is quite likely that Yasir was teasing his fans.
The latest season of Suno Chanda ended with Kinza and Sherry tying the knot and Jiya and Arsal finally buying tickets to go to London so Jiya could study further.
The main cast of the series includes Farhan Saeed (Arsal), Iqra Aziz (Jiya), Nadia Afgan (Shanno), Samina Ahmad (Bi Jaan), Syed Mohammed Ahmed (Agha Jaan), Sami Khan (DJ), Farah Shah (Naeema), Sohail Sameer (Nazakat) and Farhan Ali Agha (Jamshed) among others. Both the seasons were directed by Talish and written by Saima Akram Chaudhry.
