'The Legend of Maula Jatt' to release in cinemas on October 13

Highly-anticipated movie ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ featuring Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan in the lead has finally gotten a release date.

The Bilal Lashari directorial, which also stars Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick and Mirza Gohar Rasheed in pivotal roles will hit the cinemas on October 13.

Produced by Ammara Hikmat under the joint venture of Encyclomedia & Lashari films in association with AAA Motion Pictures, The Legend of Maula Jatt is by far the most expensive film to come out of Pakistan.

Since its announcement, the movie has been facing postponed issues. Written and directed by Bilal Lashari, the movie was first embroiled in a legal battle and once that issue was resolved, the COVID-19 pandemic happened.

The film is a remake of the 1979 cult classic Maula Jatt. It is a Punjabi language action drama film starring Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, and Humaima Malik. The film will be distributed by Mandviwalla Films which also distributed films like Waar, Teefa In Trouble and Avatar in Pakistan.

Besides Mahira, Fawad and Hamza, the upcoming film features Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shafqat Cheema and Nayyer Ejaz in pivotal roles.
