DUBAI: Pakistan will face Australia in the semi-final of the ongoing T20 World Cup as South Africa failed to restrict England to 131 in their Super 12 clash on Saturday.
According to tournament regulations, the winner of a group will face the runner-up from the other. Pakistan is at the top in group 2, while Australia finished at second place in group 1.
Meanwhile, South Africa have been eliminated, due to poor net run-rate, after they failed to restrict England to 131 or less while defending 190 in their final group stage match.
The 2009 champions, Pakistan, have taken on all comers with aplomb at the event, winning all four games including a crushing victory over India, to seal their spot in the last-four stage with eight points so far.
The Men in Green will face Scotland on Sunday, which will be their final group stage match. Pakistan has won all its three T20Is against Scotland, once in the inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007 and two in Scotland in 2018.
