Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been signed by Essex County Cricket Club for the Vitality Blast, as the club begins its T20 Blast campaign today (Friday).
According to details, Essex Cricket Club announced on social media and also shared photos of Mohammad Amir with the team jersey. Mohammad Amir stated that it felt great to be back and he is happy and looking forward to meeting everyone. He asked for support, saying, “Please come and support us.”
Essex will begin their T20 Blast campaign with a match against Hampshire, which is scheduled to be played on Friday at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. Mohammad Amir recently represented Quetta Gladiators in PSL 10 and was the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
However, the fast bowler has faced criticism since the final against Lahore Qalandars, where he conceded 41 runs in four overs and took only one wicket. In the 19th over, Amir gave away 18 runs when the Qalandars needed 31 runs from 12 balls.
