ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted bail to former President Asif Ali Zardari in a suspicious transaction case and extended his interim bail till 24th November.
During the hearing, former president’s lawyer Farooq H Naik stated that his clients were being treated at the hospital. Asif Zardari was not ill when the petition was filed, he later fell ill.
Farooq H Naik said that permission should be given to including medical ground in the bail application. The court directed Naik to file an amended petition till the next hearing and also granted the former president’s request for exemption from attendance on medical grounds.
On the other hand, during the hearing of the alleged mega-money laundering reference against Zardari in the accountability court in Islamabad, the statement of NAB witness Additional Registrar SECP Naeem Khan could not be completed.
During the hearing, Zardari’s lawyers objected to the document submitted by the NAB. The accountability court adjourned the hearing till November 10 for further proceedings.
During the hearing, the lawyers of the co-accused requested that the trial be adjourned till 17th November. Accountability Court Judge Azam Khan said that the order of the Supreme Court could not be ignored.

The trial process has to be taken forward, accountability court Islamabad judge. The Accountability Court in Islamabad granted Asif Zardari’s request for exemption from one-day attendance in the Park Lane reference.
During the hearing, Abdul Ghani Majeed’s lawyer requested that the hearing be adjourned to appear in the High Court. On this, the judge said that the statement of the witness, in this case, should be recorded. The Islamabad Accountability Court adjourned the hearing of the Park Lane reference till 11th November.
