SUPARCO has predicted that Eid al-Adha in the country will likely be on June 7, 2025 (Saturday), as reported by national media.
According to a report, Eid al-Adha is expected to be observed across the country on June 7. SUPARCO has stated that the new moon of Dhu al-Hijjah will be born on May 27 at 8:02 AM Pakistan Standard Time.
According to SUPARCO, the moon’s age at sunset will be approximately 11 hours and 34 minutes. On May 27, the chances of sighting the moon anywhere in the country are nearly nonexistent.
SUPARCO has predicted that the first of Dhu al-Hijjah is expected to be on May 29, 2025, and Eid al-Adha is likely to be observed on June 7, 2025.
It is worth noting that the final decision on moon sighting is authorized by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, and Eid al-Adha in the country will be celebrated according to its decision.
Eid al-Adha is observed by Muslims around the world to commemorate the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son, Hazrat Ismail (AS), as an act of obedience to God’s command. However, before the sacrifice could take place, Allah provided a ram to be sacrificed instead.
