The dead body of a woman was found in a suitcase lying near the bank of Chuna Depot stream in Liaquatabad, Karachi, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to police, they found a suitcase in which the body of a woman was stuffed near a stream.
According to the initial investigation, an unknown woman and a man who came in a rickshaw left the suitcase and fled.
Police have not identified the slain woman so far. However, they found torture marks on the dead body.
Police said after killing the woman, the murderers crammed her body in a suitcase and threw it to hide their crime. The body was sent to a hospital for the post-mortem.
Separately, dacoits shot dead a 72-year-old elderly man in Karachi.
Reportedly, a young man withdrew cash from a bank in Qasba Islamia Colony and hurried back to his home.
As he reached the threshold of his house, the young man raised an alarm that he was being followed by dacoits on a motorcycle.
Hearing the shouts of the youth, his grandfather rushed to the door. As he unlocked the door, dacoits opened fire and the old man fell prey to their bullets. He died on the spot.
