Suicide blast occurs near Akhtar Mengal’s sit-in in Mastung

A suicide blast occurred near the sit-in of BNP leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal in Mastung on Saturday.

As per media reports, the suicide bomber struck the New Luk Pass in Mastung. There was no information yet about how many people were taking part in the sit-in at the time of the blast. The police have said that there was no damage of any kind as a result of the suicide explosion.

As per sources, volunteers stationed near the protest site intercepted a suspicious individual. Upon being stopped for a search, the suspect detonated explosives. The nature of the blast and the extent of the damage are being assessed.

According to Levies officials, the attacker arrived on a motorcycle with an accomplice, who managed to escape following the blast. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. According to Levies, one person was injured in the explosion.
