According to the latest statistics from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the highest price of sugar in the country is 180 rupees per kilogram, and the average price is 168 rupees 80 paisa per kilogram.
It is worth mentioning that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced setting the retail price of sugar at 164 rupees per kilogram, and Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer claimed that the price of sugar in the country was 163 rupees per kilogram.
It should be noted that the Pakistani nation generally uses a lot of sugar for tea and beverages, and sugar consumption increases significantly during the month of Ramadan.
During Ramadan, a large number of people are drawn to various beverages and sweets during sehri and iftar, with heavy use of sugar. Specifically, in terms of tea consumption, the Pakistani nation spends billions of rupees, and the use of sugar is no secret.
