There is bad news for inflation hit Pakistanis as the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has jacked up sugar prices by Rs. 5 per kilogram across the country.
As per details, the USC has announced a Rs. 5 increase in sugar prices with immediate effect across the country. After this announcement,t the price of commodity also increased in the open market from Rs. 140 to Rs. 145 per kg.
Utility Stores Corporation officials said that the sugar is still being sold on less price as compared with the price of sugar in the open market.
It is worth noting here that the federal cabinet formed a special committee to halt the operations of Utility Stores Corporation and Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain was nominated as head of the committee.
The federal cabinet directed the committee to submit its final recommendations to the concerned officials in this regard.
