Sudeepa Chatterjee, a host and actress from Bengal, has reported receiving multiple death threats following the viral success of a video in which she discussed a beef dish on a cooking show.
According to Indian media, Chatterjee, who hails from Kolkata, clarified that a contestant on a Bangladeshi show had prepared the beef meal. In her capacity as host, she conversed with the participant, and the resulting video quickly went viral on social media.
“I have been accused of cooking and eating beef during the show, which is completely false,” Sudeepa Chatterjee explained. “I merely spoke with the person who prepared the dish.”
Firmly refuting the accusations, she stated, “I have never cooked, eaten, or even touched beef. Those threatening me should watch the video carefully and show me where I touched the beef.”
She added, “Karim Jahan, a participant of the show, did the cooking. The videos are still unedited, and anyone can review them. Nowhere will you see that I have even touched beef,” Sudeepa Chatterjee said in a Facebook post.
Sudeepa Chatterjee explained that the show was organized for Eidul Adha and that she was representing India on the Bangladeshi program.
“Most of the people criticizing me haven’t even watched the video. I am being targeted for political gain,” she remarked.
