The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced a prohibition on educational field trips and picnics for students attending government schools, effective Friday.
According to a notification from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department of KP, it is stated that “All government school authorities in the province are prohibited from organizing educational field trips, tours, or picnics for students.”
This restriction encompasses primary, middle, high, and higher secondary educational institutions.
The notification has been disseminated to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and the merged districts, with directives to ensure strict compliance with the ban.
This decision has been made in light of concerns regarding the safety and security of students, although officials have not provided additional information regarding the specific reasons for the prohibition.
Previously, in Peshawar, the local administration implemented a ban on the sale of junk food within a 150-meter radius of schools by invoking Section 144.
These regulatory measures were taken as a proactive approach to safeguard the health and safety of both students and the community.
The actions of the district administration demonstrate their commitment to addressing public concerns and maintaining order in the area.
