A tragic incident unfolded in Morbi, Gujarat, India, as 16-year-old Heer Ghetiya, who had achieved outstanding results in her board exams, passed away due to a brain hemorrhage.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) had recently announced the results of the Class 10 exams, in which Heer Ghetiya had secured an impressive 99.70 percent.
About a month ago, Heer underwent a surgical procedure for a brain hemorrhage at a private hospital in Rajkot. After being discharged, she returned home. However, approximately a week ago, she began experiencing respiratory and cardiac difficulties once again.
Heer was subsequently readmitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU), where an MRI report revealed a significant impairment of 80 to 90 percent in her brain function. Tragically, Heer’s heart ceased to function on Wednesday, prompting her grieving parents to make the decision to donate her eyes and her body.
“Heer aspired to become a doctor. By donating her body, even though she couldn’t fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor, she will still be able to contribute to saving other lives,” expressed her father, reflecting on their decision.
