The message also falsely warns that opening a virus-laden video will result in the loss of mobile phone data. However, media reports indicate that this message is not new; it has been spreading in various countries since 2016 and is now appearing in Pakistan.
While incidents of fraud and theft through mobile phones do occur in Pakistan, the claims made in this message are unfounded and do not reflect the current reality.
