Sports ground admin illegally charging exorbitant fees for matches

RAWALPINDI: The administration of the sports ground in Rawalpindi’s Dhok Khabba area is illegally charging exorbitant fees for matches and activities, it has been learned.

According to details, the residents of the area are forced to perform sports activities in nearby cemetery due to the illegal exorbitant fees imposed by the ground administration.

Sources have revealed that the land mafia is patronizing the administration. They are illegally receiving exorbitant fees up to Rs 30,000 for a single match.

Sources further informed that the land mafia has allegedly occupied Shahbaz Sharif complex, hockey grounds, cricket grounds, and tennis courts in the area.

The residents have appealed to the concerned authorities and Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar to take action against the illegal exorbitant fees and ensure the availability of plays grounds.

On the other side, the concerned authorities have geared to take action against land mafia in the federal capital and reopen pending cases on the directives of the prime minister.  

The pending cases with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Islamabad Police, Capital Development Authority (CDA), as well the anti-corruption department are expected to be reopened in the coming days.

It has been further revealed that an MNA of the ruling party has allegedly demanded Rs750 million to close the probe. The prime minister has directed Interior Ministry and Inspector-General Police (IGP) Islamabad to take action which has sent ripples across Ghauri Town.
