ISLAMABAD: A special plane of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) carrying 300 passengers has left for South Africa.
Spokesman PIA Abdullah Khan said that all precautionary measures including spray in flight were practiced before take-off. A team of doctors performed a medical examination and screening of the passengers.
Moreover, a PIA aircraft will bring in Pakistanis stranded in Denmark back home today. A flight scheduled for tomorrow would bring back 175 Pakistanis from Malaysia, and would also take Malaysian and Singaporean embassy staff and passengers along.
Another flight scheduled for 11th April will take French passengers back to France. PIA had increased its international relief flights to bring back stranded Pakistanis amid coronavirus pandemic.
On Sunday, Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA) banned pilots from operating special flights after coronavirus related Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was ignored but after two days they resumed operating services after reaching an agreement.
