Elon Musk’s company SpaceX suffered a major setback when its Starship rocket exploded during a static fire test, with the video going viral on social media.
According to details, the test was conducted at Starbase in Boca Chica, Texas. The Starship was stationary and, during a live stream, suddenly turned into a fireball with a loud explosion.
After the Starship explosion, the chances of it being launched into space this month have decreased. In a statement issued by the company, it was confirmed that no one was injured in the explosion and no damage was caused to the surrounding residential areas.

SpaceX stated that the explosion occurred due to a malfunction, though the specific cause was not disclosed. The statement added that a team is actively working to keep the test area safe.
On the other hand, experts believe the explosion might have been caused by a fuel leak from the fuel tank. This is not the first time Starship has been destroyed in such a manner.
Previously, nine test flights of the Starship rocket have failed, with the rocket exploding during flight each time, and so far, it has not completed a single flight successfully.
Its 10th test flight was expected in June, but that now seems unlikely. Starship’s repeated failures are a significant blow to Elon Musk’s company, which aims to accelerate its space program this year.
