The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that soothing sea breezes are expected to return to Karachi this evening after being blocked for more than a week.
The port city has been gripped by a severe heatwave for over a week, with temperatures exceeding 40°C and heat indices soaring above 50°C.
However, the Met Office has forecasted that the heatwave will begin to subside tonight, with pleasant weather expected from Monday due to a combination of sea breezes, cloudy skies, and possible drizzling in some areas of the city.
According to the latest weather advisory, the intensity of the hot weather is likely to diminish from this evening as the low-pressure system responsible for blocking the sea winds moves away from the port city.
Meanwhile, parts of interior Sindh including Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta, Umerkot, and Tharparkar districts are likely to experience thunderstorms and rain this evening, while Karachi is likely to receive pre-monsoon rain from July 8.
