SNGPL drivers protest for fulfillment of demands

ISLAMABAD: Drivers have announced to protest outside the office of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) until their demands are fulfilled.

The drivers have put forward a 13-point list of demands. The protesters have also demanded that outstanding salaries since the past five months should be released immediately and the cheques should be given to them personally.

The drivers have demanded to park their vehicles at the office premises and not pay parking tickets. They have also demanded to increase the transport rates for their vehicles and refused to hand over parking stamp papers to the company.

They have also demanded to increase the time period for vehicles, and pay overtime for those vehicles on duty for 8-10 hours. They have also demanded that salaries should be paid by the tenth of every month.

Drivers have also called for ending the system of Google Maps, while there should no deduction on official public holidays. They also demand that taxes should not be deducted and outstanding charges should be paid to them.

They have also demanded to increase the rates for loading compressors and welding on their vehicles. Drivers have said the administration has been misbehaving and making unfair deductions.

The drivers have urged that their demands should be fulfilled at the earliest. They threatened a complete boycott and said they will not be returning to their jobs.
