KARACHI: Sindh’s Health Minister Azra Fazal Pechuho was reportedly stuck in an elevator at a public hospital in Karachi on Friday.

According to reports gathered by MM News, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader was visiting the Civil Hospital Karachi to attend the inauguration ceremony of Children’s Surgery Ward when the incident took place.
Reports suggest Azra Fazal Pechuho was heading back from the ceremony when she along with other provincial ministers, medical superintendent of the hospital and others got trapped in the elevator.
The hospital staff rescued the minister and other officials by breaking into the elevator.
Meanwhile, speaking at the ceremony, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho said the 200-bed Korean Hospital would become functional from next year. She said she would soon be going to Jamshoro for ground-breaking of 200-bed child hospital.
In future, she said, health department with the help of World Bank planned to set up 392 government dispensaries across the province.
