Sindh police on Saturday morning rescued an abducted Hindu trader, Naresh Kumar, after an operation against dacoits in Shikarpur’s Kacha area. Further details of the operation are yet to surface; however, some sources have claimed that the recovery of the abductee took place after a ransom was paid.
According to local media reports, sixteen days ago, a young Hindu trader from Matiari, Naresh Kumar, was abducted near Seekhat, close to Matiari. Naresh Kumar was kidnapped from the Adairo Lala area near Matiari while returning home to Hyderabad, prompting protests from political and social organizations as well as the minority community.
His brother, Prem Chand, expressed gratitude towards IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razzaq Dharejo, and SSP Matiari Syed Asghar Shah for their efforts in rescuing Naresh Kumar from the remote areas of Shikarpur.
The family thanked the Sindh government and police for ensuring the safe recovery of their brother. However, reports have also emerged that a significant ransom was paid for Naresh Kumar’s release.
