KARACHI: Sindh Local Government Board (SLGB) has suspended three education directors in the District Municipal Corporation (DMC) of the city.
The suspended directors include Abdul Khaliq DMC West, Sher Ali East and Aslam Khan, Director Education Central.
These officers were suspended by Sindh Local Government Board on the charge of suspicious service records and illegal promotions. On the other hand, the officials said the board had suspended them without justification due to a misunderstanding.
It should be noted that Abdul Khaliq, one of the three suspended directors, had been under siege for more than two years and his salary was also withheld from DMC West due to which he was facing severe difficulties.
Later he has been reinstated by DMC West on strict and clear orders of the Supreme Court a few months ago and has started receiving a salary; however, he had also been suspended along with two other officers.
It may be recalled that earlier an unsuccessful attempt was made to remove him on a fake order however Director Education Abdul Khaliq had filed a contempt of court petition in the court after which the DMC officers declared the order as fake.
