KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport, and Excise, Sharjeel Inaam Memon, has announced the launch of the Peoples Bus Service in Nawabshah next week.
Speaking to the media, Memon stated that the service aims to provide improved transport facilities for the people of Sindh. Starting next week, the Peoples Bus Service will be available in Karachi, Larkana, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), with an inauguration planned soon.
Moreover, Memon informed journalists that the provincial transport department is set to introduce two new routes of the Peoples Bus Service in Karachi. One route will run from Hawkes Bay to Merewether Town, and the other, spanning 36 kilometers, will connect Saadi Town to Merewether Tower.
Memon highlighted that the Sindh transport department has already launched a free shuttle service to improve connectivity between the Green Line and Orange Line sections of the bus rapid transit (BRT) system. An automated fare collection system has also been implemented for Peoples Bus Service passengers, and reconstruction work has commenced on Jam Sadiq Bridge.

Furthermore, in response to directives from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur, the number of female-only pink buses on various routes in Karachi has been increased.
