KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has announced that all government schools in the province will be gradually shifted to solar energy, while private schools will also receive full support in adopting solar energy solutions, here on Saturday.
As per the details, addressing the All-Sindh Science and Arts Gala organized by the Directorate of Private Schools Education Sindh and All Sindh Private Schools and Colleges Education, Shah highlighted the government’s commitment to sustainable energy and educational reforms.
The theme of the event, held at the PAF Museum, was “Paigham Pakistan – Istehkam Pakistan” (Message of Pakistan – Stability of Pakistan), which aimed to promote national unity and development through science and arts.
In his address, the minister emphasized the important role of teachers in shaping the future of the country by educating students about Pakistan’s history and promoting positive awareness. He stressed that the message for today’s youth is one of stability, progress and optimism.
Pakistan’s future is in bright and safe hands. “Things are improving day by day, and new job opportunities are being created,” Shah remarked.
He added that local and international investors are expressing confidence in Pakistan’s economic stability, which is increasing investment in various sectors.
The minister reiterated the Sindh government’s commitment to addressing issues such as power shortages, especially during the summer months, and overbilling. Efforts are underway to provide affordable power to consumers and reduce dependence on traditional sources of energy.
The solarization initiative aims to address the energy challenges faced by schools, ensure uninterrupted power supply and create a more sustainable and eco-friendly learning environment.
Shah reiterated the government’s broader vision to modernize infrastructure and promote the adoption of renewable energy across the province. Solarization of schools is part of a larger strategy to address the energy crisis, reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainable development.
