KARACHI: Sindh government today (Monday) has ordered unhindered transportation of wheat to Karachi and Hyderabad in view of a recently emerged shortage in flour mills.
According to a notice issued by the Sindh Food Department, “No vehicle carrying wheat of Flour Mills of Karachi and Hyderabad shall be intercepted by the officials of the Food Department.”
In this regard, Adviser to Prime Minister on Maritime Affairs, Mahmood Moulvi tweeted, “Sindh Food Department while endorsing my stance has opened “Zila Bandi” of wheat for Karachi.”
However, he said, “Some elements are trying to obstruct the arrival of wheat. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah should issue instructions for unhindered transportation so that prices can be reduced & common man can get relief.”
