Sindh government has approved to establish the Sindh Job Portal in collaboration with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA).
The new job portal will serve is a central platform for the provincial government’s recruitment processes, aimed at addressing shortcomings in the traditional system.
As per the reports, the new system will be an efficient and secure system, managing job postings grade 1 to 15, through automatic application procedures, tracking of applicants, and real-time data analytics. Moreover, the portal will also be linked to the Sindh Testing Services to ease the recruitment process for successful test applicants.
Using the AWS cloud technology, the portal will provide for a user-friendly interface, administrative tools, as well as robust security measures to protect applicant-submitted information.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had nullified the Sindh government’s decision granting a 15-year age relaxation to applicants seeking employment in government services, especially through the SPSC.
The Supreme Court had agreed with the decision of the Sindh High Court dismissing the appeal and said, “A relaxation of 15 years is not proper or justified, creating an unfair advantage for several candidates”.
The court further pronounced that such a policy could open avenues to possible misuse of discretion, which in turn would distort the recruitment process and, as a consequence, could add to the government’s financial liabilities by raising pension obligations.
