KARACHI: Sindh government has issued a list of ‘Dos and Don’ts’ for the second phase of lockdown, imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
According to a notification issued from the Home Ministry today (Sunday), local shops will be allowed to resume business activities for four days a week from tomorrow (Monday).
“Furniture shops, construction industry-related shops will also be allowed to operate during the shutdown,” the notification read.
However, the notification said, “Strict lockdown will remain in place across the province during Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.” The second phase of lockdown will remain applicable until May 31.
Businesses that will not be allowed to resume activities include beauty salons, barbershops, gaming zone shops, and gyms. “Shopping plazas, markets, hotels and marriage halls will also remain closed during the lockdown,” the notification added,
The notification further said that any sort of public gathering including rallies, political, religious, and social activities will also be banned till May 31.
“Any public movement will be barred from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am while the deputy commissioners would also be entitled to completely seal any coronavirus hotspot area,” the notification read.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government has issued a notification for reopening the secretarial offices of nine administrative departments from tomorrow (Monday).
The nine departments are Auqaf and Zakat, Human Rights, Industries and Commerce, Information, Science and Technology, Investment, Minorities Affairs, Social Welfare, Boards and Universities, Works and Services.
According to the notification, “only minimum essential staff” will be allowed to work in the offices.
