The Sindh government has officially eliminated the employment quota reserved for the children of deceased employees.
This decision was made by the Sindh Cabinet in compliance with a directive from the Supreme Court. A formal notification has been issued, confirming that no further appointments will be made under the death quota within the province.
The move aligns with a similar policy change earlier this year by the Punjab government, which repealed Rule 17-A that granted government jobs to the children of public servants who passed away during their service.
Earlier, the policy allowed a son, daughter, or widow of a deceased government employee to secure a government job. The Punjab government issued its notification on this change in July.
