Karachi: In a humanitarian gesture for Eid-ul-Fitr, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced a 120-day sentence reduction for convicted prisoners across the province.
According to official sources, the sentence reduction will benefit 820 inmates; however, it will not apply to prisoners involved in serious crimes.
The amnesty does not extend to individuals convicted of:
Anti-state activities, murder,spionage, terrorism, rape, robbery
The Sindh government stated that this decision aims to offer relief to prisoners with minor offenses, allowing them to reunite with their families during the festive occasion.
