The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have revealed that they found no evidence of sexual abuse in the case involving a woman who claimed to be a Belgian national.
Last week, a 28-year-old woman, who claimed to be from Belgium, was discovered bound and gagged on a roadside in Islamabad, after reportedly enduring several days of sexual assault.
According to a report by Dawn, police found the woman in Sector G-6/1-3. She informed authorities that she had been living in Islamabad for the past six months and was staying with a man who allegedly raped her multiple times.
However, the police investigation revealed that the woman is not a foreigner but a Pakistani national, while her husband is a Belgian citizen. The couple reportedly married in Pakistan about five years ago.
Initially, the woman accused two people of raping her, later increasing the number to five. Police stated that the woman is mentally ill and has been transferred to the Edhi Center for care.
No evidence of the alleged abuse was found at the residence of the arrested suspect, Tamizuddin, according to police sources. The suspect claimed that the woman visited his home every day, so he tied her up and left her outside.
