ISLAMABAD: Minister Railways Sheikh Rasheed has met German Ambassador to Pakistan Bernhard Schlagheck to discuss the Main Line (ML-1) project.
During the meeting, the German ambassador said that the railways connect people with different cultures and areas in the country.
He said, “I had a very amazing experience of meeting Pakistani people during my journey.”
Sheikh Rasheed said that advancement in the railway was directly linked with the prosperity of the country.
He said, “We are upgrading the rail network through the Main Line (ML-1) project.”
He said that the department currently was facilitating the travel of 70 million passengers in a year. Rasheed thanked the ambassador for travelling via train.
Sheikh Rasheed earlier on Saturday assured that Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), disgruntled allies of the ruling party won’t go anywhere.
He also claimed that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will not return to Pakistan and Maryam Nawaz will not go abroad.
“However, Shehbaz Sharif will return Pakistan soon,” Sheikh Rasheed claimed.
Commenting on Supreme Court directions, he said that SC has directed to revive the Karachi Circular Railway in 15 days, adding that he would visit Karachi to meet CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah in this regard.
